Michael Little, not just a little chef!

Biography

Michael Little has been working in catering and hospitality since he was 15 years old, begining as a part time waiter involved in some food preperation at a public house on the marshes at Sussex overlooking the English channel.

On leaving school, Michael began studing hospitality managment at Hastings College of Arts & Technology until 1999.  Following several years working at a local hotel in Eastbourne and a brief spell with celebrity chef Tony Tobin in Surrey, Michael returned to studies in 2002.

After completing a stage at the kitchen of Heston Blunmenthal's acclaimed Fat Duck Restaurant, Bray, in July 2005 (voted the Best Restaurant in the World 2005, holder of the coveted 3 Michelin stars), Michael commenced his under-graduate degree at Birmingham College of Food, Tourism and Creative Studies.  Michael also works part time at a local Michelin stared restaurant in the suburbs of Birmingham.  Most recently he has been involved as a free-lance chef, working at Aston Villa FC, National Exhibition Centre and several private weddings.

Michael also has a strong interest in good causes and recently decided to found The Michael Little Foundation, a non-proffit making organisation.  The Michael Little Foundation is currently partnering with YRG CARE, an AIDS research and treatment centre in Chennai, South India.

Michael was also elected the Welfare Officer of the Birmingham College of Food's Guild of Students Executive 2006-07.  In this capacity he is involved in co-ordinating various student health campaigns, chairs a student committee and is responsible for charitable fund-raising.
